Along the Healing Path:
Recovering From Interstitial Cystitis
By Catherine M. Simone
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a highly stigmatized disease that is medically incurable. This condition affects millions of people worldwide, yet it is still poorly understood with limited treatment options that focus principally on masking symptoms. In her new book, Along the Healing Path: Recovering From Interstitial Cystitis [IC Hope, Ltd., February 22, 2021] author Catherine M. Simone shares her individualized, holistic, alternative approach to healing from IC. Offering hope to those who have been told there is no cure, Along the Healing Path encourages patients to consider their entire body when treating their IC and to believe in their body’s inherent ability to heal itself. As Simone writes, “mainstream medicine is treating IC as if the bladder were not attached to the rest of the body. It is for this reason that they are having little success in actually healing the IC bladder. It is for this reason, that to them, IC is incurable.”
Diagnosed at 30 with a severe case, Simone quickly learned that mainstream medicine could not provide the tools she needed to get better. Determined to heal, she rejected the painful and invasive medical treatments and forged an alternative path. Since 1995, she has spoken to thousands of patients from around the world offering guidance in the area of alternative medicine for IC and its related conditions. Across her impressive career, Simone’s sense of empathy and determination have been highly instrumental in delivering her message of hope to all those who most need to hear it.
Compassionate and insightful, Along the Healing Path is a must-read for anyone who suffers or knows someone suffering from IC or a related condition. In this book packed with informative resources, causal explanations and connections, along with treatment ideas and guidance, readers will learn:
How to determine their own individual IC (PBS/OB) situation and how to develop a healing plan specific to their personal needs
About cancer, breast implants, histamine intolerance and specific nutrient and mineral deficiencies, all of which are never-before-discussed topics in terms of IC
About foods that help heal IC, rather than simply a list of foods to avoid
How cannabis can be used for pain, symptom relief, and healing
How to use various essential oils, herbs, natural supplements, and alternative treatments
CATHERINE M. SIMONE is the author of three books about Interstitial Cystitis—To Wake in Tears, Along the Healing Path, and Awakening Through the Tears. She graduated from Kenyon College in 1985 and earned a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University, originally intending to become a therapist. Shortly after being diagnosed, Catherine became co-leader of an online IC support group and began her career helping other patients. Still healed from IC over twenty years later, Catherine released a completely revised and expanded edition of her bestselling Along the Healing Path in 2021. Utilizing further research, unexpected personal experiences, and decades helping patients, she is back with more helpful information on understanding and overcoming IC using a holistic approach.
All of Simone's books have introduced new topics related to IC that are rarely, if ever explored, but that can be incredibly helpful for those who suffer from this painful disease. The first to write about IC from a holistic perspective offering alternative treatment options, Simone introduced the herb marshmallow root in her first book To Wake in Tears. This herb has since helped thousands and is now commonplace as an alternative treatment for IC. She was the first to address the mind/body/spirit connection in relation to IC in her third book Awakening Through the Tears. This new edition of Along the Healing Path offers various forms of natural pain relief, including the first ever discussion of how to use cannabis for IC healing. This is the first book to explain how to use vibrational and energy medicine as a compliment to any and all other natural treatments for IC. Along the Healing Path offers a way for patients to find hope and true healing using an individualized, holistic, alternative approach.
Along the Healing Path was released worldwide 2.22.2021 and is available in paperback and ebook. It can be ordered on Amazon, Bookbaby, and most online book outlets, as well as brick and mortar bookstores.
